The coach is in his third spell with the team having played for and also managed them. His first spell as a player showed him to be a skillful and had working midfielder who had an excellent shot. He had previously played senior with Hearts, Rangers, Motherwell and Leicester City. As a manger he was reasonably successful, but he had parted company with the team in this capacity prior to Brian Fairley's appointment.

A stalwart of the local Junior scene, McComiskey played for many years with Armadale and latterly had coached Harthill with some success. He had quit football a few months ago but was persuaded out of retirement to act as Strickland's number 2.
